How To Prevent Outlook Asking For Password Every Time When Opening?

If you have set accessing password for a specified Outlook data file without saving this accessing password in your password list in Microsoft Outlook, it will ask for password every time when starting Microsoft Outlook. See screen shot:

In this article, I will show you how to easily prevent your Microsoft Outlook from asking for password every time when opening.

Prevent Outlook Asking For Password With Saving Password When Starting

Actually, to prevent Outlook asking for password every time when starting, you can save your password easily as following:

After launching your Microsoft Outlook, it pops up the Outlook Data File Password dialog box. In this dialog box, enter your password in the Password box, and check the option of Save this password in your password list, and at last click the OK button.

After configuring, it won’t ask for the accessing password any longer when starting Microsoft Outlook.

Notes:

  1. If you close this Outlook Data File Password dialog box directly without entering password when Outlook 2010 and 2013 starting, you can’t access the corresponding Outlook data file.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 can’t be launched if you do not enter password in the popping up dialog box.

Prevent Outlook Asking For Password With Saving Password In Account Settings

There is another way to add the password into the password list and prevent Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013 asking for password when launching.

There is another way to add the password into the password list and prevent Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013 asking for password when launching.

Step 1: In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click the File > Info > Account Settings > Account Settings.

Step 2: In the Account Settings dialog box,

  1. Go to the Data Files tab;
  2. Click to highlight the data file whose password you will save into the passowrd list;
  3. Click the Settings button. See screen shot:

Step 3: In the coming Outlook Data File Password dialog box, enter your password in the Password dialog box, and check the option of Save this password in your password list, at last click the OK button.

Step 4: Close the popping out Outlook Data File dialog box with clicking OK button.

Step 5: Click the Close button to exit the Account Settings dialog box.
